Security and Privacy

Minibrowser is based on the Microsoft Web Browser control, as such it inherits the security and privacy settings from Internet Explorer, so if you take care in maintaining a strong security enforcement on IE and your Windows operating system, minibrowser will also be well protected.

It is also important to note that a web browser might be provided by a potential malicious vendor, and could include code to collect private information about you, or implement phishing schemes that lead you to believe, for instance, that you are entering your credit card information on an online store while in fact sending it to someone else's computer.

So it becomes important to state that the minibrowser gadget is 100% free of virus, spyware and phishing schemes:

- Minibrowser does not collect or use information about the sites you visit using it.
- It does not contain code to impersonate any web site.
- It is free of virus, spam, and spyware.
- It does not generate clicks or simulate navigation.

Minibrowser includes only the functionality that allows you to browse, and monitor web pages. It does not contain any kind of malicious code.

However, despite I can assure that minibrowser is clean of virus, spyware and phishing schemes;  I acknowledge that I am not a "well-known vendor" like Microsoft or Netscape, and that you have the right to doubt of this application.

So please as a general rule:

Never use a web browser from a "less-known vendor", like minibrowser or any other, to shop online, or enter sensitive information (credit card numbers, bank account passwords, etc.) on web forms.

That being said, the most probable use of minibrowser is to monitor portions of web pages, which of course is a very safe activity.
